YOUNG LEADERSHIP
APPLICATIONS
WHAT IS A YOUNG LEADER?
Young Leaders are a group of young people aged 14 or over who we recognise are responsible and trustworthy, and we are helping to develop skills and abilities. If you're a young leader, you'll have much more input into a session than a regular member of the youth. There are lots of different things you can learn, including hospitality, event management, administration, and public speaking. We will work with you to help you get what you want out of being a Young Leader.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
There are loads of benefits, including:

-
Take part in trips and activities only available to Young Leaders.
-
Learn new skills and get experience doing new things.
-
Have your voice heard - you will be invited to all team meetings.
-
You will be invited to the team social activities.
-
Fantastic experience to include on your CV, including a certificate when you complete the course.
-
Be a part of helping Revolution Youth to be the best youth organisation it can be.
-
You will be offered free training and qualifications on a variety of optional things, such as first-aid training, safeguarding, food hygiene, etc - all of which are fantastic for your future employability. These are optional, but you might find them really helpful.
WHAT ARE THE EXPECTATIONS?
We have really high expectations for Young Leaders, because we know they are capable of it. These include:

-
Turn up to all sessions on Wednesday nights (unless you've let us know ahead of time you can't make it).
-
Your behaviour must be a great example to the other young people - both in terms of how helpful you are to the rest of your team, and also how you speak to young people at the sessions.
-
You won't be able to vape or smoke around other young people - this is part of setting a good example to them.
-
Each session you receive a grade - Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor, or Unacceptable. To pass the course, in 1 term you need at least 2 Excellent and 6 Good. However, receiving 2 Unacceptable would mean that you are removed from the programme.
-
You will be given an area to take charge of - we'll try to give you something that matches your interests.
