INFO FOR THE
TEAM

SAFEGUARDING AND WHISTLEBLOWING

If you have a concern about a child, it is your legal duty to report it - don't assume someone else will do this. To see our full safeguarding policy, download it here.

To report a safeguarding concern about a child, fill in the form here.

To report a whistleblowing concern, fill in the form here. Whistleblowing means reporting another member of the team for something you think isn't right.

The Designated Safeguarding Lead is Steffy Cooke, whom you can contact by phone on 07817 730840, or email on steffycooke@live.co.uk.

If the Designated Safeguarding Lead is not available, you can also contact the Deputy Safeguarding Lead, John Hopkins, on 07581706032 or john@revolutionyouth.co.uk

ACCIDENTS AND INCIDENTS

If an accident or incident (including a near-miss of an accident) has happened that we need to know about, please report it here. Anything with an injury (including of a team member, not just a young person) should always be reported. You can also see our health and safety policy by downloading it here.

SUPPORT AND TRAINING

To see our Staff and Volunteer Handbook, download it here.

To see our Statement of Beliefs, download it here.

We run a training session each term, at the beginning of the term - it's our expectation that our team make those sessions just like any other session they are on the rota for. We also expect all of our regular team to have completed a Level 2 Safeguarding course (at our expense) within 3 months of joining the team - if you haven't been sent the details, please contact John Hopkins.

We can also arrange training, which we will pay for, on a variety of other topics. This is a great way to upskill yourself whilst supporting Revolution Youth, at no cost to you. This training can include:

  • First Aid

  • Restraint Training

  • Health and Safety

  • Mental Health First Aid

  • Trauma Training

  • Youth Work Skills

  • Food Hygiene

We can also discuss with you additional training not covered here, such as social media management, design, etc, as long as you will use those skills to support Revolution Youth. To arrange, contact John.

MENTORING AND OUT-OF-SESSION MEETINGS

Mentoring youth on a 1-to-1 basis, or smaller youth session meetings outside of our main sessions is possible, but there are important rules which need to be followed in line with our Safeguarding Policy. These meetings must always be agreed with the Director (John Hopkins) and must always be logged ahead of time. If you've already got permission for these meetings, you can fill in your meeting form here.

DATA POLICY

We have a data policy specific to the youth team - download it here.
